About the Corporation
The Delta Chi Huntsville Chapter Housing Corporation (DCHC) is an Alabama non-profit corporation founded with the purpose of providing for the furnishing of a chapter fraternity house for the Huntsville Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity and then maintaining those assets. DCHC is also engaged in a long term growth fund for the purpose of acquiring property and housing structure to be used as a fraternity house for the Huntsville Chapter of Delta Chi.
Long Term Growth and Investment Objectives
The long-term plan of DCHC is to ultimately provide funds for the purchase of a fraternity house to the Huntsville Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity. DCHC keeps a minimal amount of funds in an account at an FDIC insured local bank. These funds are used for general operating expenses. The majority of funds are to be invested in long-term growth mutual funds, with an emphasis on Technology, Biotechnology, Financial Services and Growth and Income funds, as voted on and managed in accordance of the by-laws of the corporation.
Huntsville Chapter of Delta Chi and DCHC
The Huntsville Chapter of Delta Chi appoints two undergraduate members (one of whom is the house manager) to act as intermediaries between the chapter and DCHC. Members of the chapter are given a quarterly statement of the progress and assets of the corporation at a chapter meeting from a member of DCHC. Each active member and associate member in the chapter also contributes to DCHC each month in the form of a dues assessment of which 75% is earmarked by DCHC for the long-term growth fund and the remaining 25% is returned to the chapter annually in the form of funding for chapter house improvements or items for furnishing the chapter house.
Alumni and Friends Support
Alumni and Friends of the Huntsville Chapter of Delta Chi can make financial or other contributions to DCHC. DCHC accepts checks, as well as credit cards through PayPal.
